Who does emergency tooth extractions in Diamond Bar
In Line Dentistry does. Dr. James Chon, DMD, takes out teeth in-house at the office on Golden Springs Drive: planned extractions, emergency extractions and wisdom teeth, with no referral to another office. He treats patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for a genuine emergency he comes in on his off days, so a tooth that has to come out can come out the same day. The tooth extractions page covers the visit itself and the aftercare; this guide is about the cost.
Simple or surgical: the two kinds of extraction
Every extraction fee comes down to which of these a tooth needs, and the X-rays at the exam decide it.
- Simple extraction. The tooth is fully above the gum line and its roots are straightforward. The area is numbed, the tooth is loosened and lifted out, and most take well under an hour.
- Surgical extraction. The tooth is broken off at the gum, still under the gum, or held by curved or fused roots, so the gum is opened or the tooth is removed in sections. Impacted wisdom teeth are usually surgical.
Both are done at In Line, numbed first with local anesthetic, with nitrous oxide available for anxious patients if it is asked for when booking.
Wisdom teeth
Dr. Chon checks wisdom teeth on the X-rays at the exam and says plainly whether they need to come out and how soon. When they do, he takes them out here. Each tooth is priced in writing, and whether it is a simple or a surgical extraction is what sets the number, so four wisdom teeth are four written lines, not one guess.
Why there is no published extraction fee
In Line publishes a price wherever a fee is fixed, and an extraction is not: the same tooth can be a simple extraction one year and a surgical one after it breaks. A published number would be right for some patients and wrong for others. So the exam comes first, $95 flat, or $0 with an active PPO plan, and the extraction is priced per tooth, itemized in writing, before it starts. Nothing is added afterwards without a new written price.
What replaces the tooth
A gap left open lets the neighboring teeth drift, so the replacement is discussed at the same exam. Dr. Chon places and restores dental implants in-house, with no referral out.
- Dental implant. $1,990 per implant, the implant, abutment and crown, when Dr. Chon's exam and 3D scan confirm you are a candidate. Anything more gets an itemized written price at the free consultation before anything begins. See implant pricing.
- Bridge. Porcelain anchored to the teeth on either side of the gap, priced in writing at the exam. See implant or bridge.
- Partial denture. A removable option, consult-first. See full-arch and dentures.
Whether the tooth should come out at all is its own question. The guide to root canal or extraction covers how Dr. Chon weighs saving a tooth against removing it.
