Two brands, one kind of treatment
Invisalign® is the best-known clear aligner brand, and plenty of people use the name for clear aligners of any kind. OrthoFX is another clear aligner system. At In Line Dentistry both are offered, and both do the same basic job: they straighten teeth with clear, removable trays instead of brackets and wires.
So the useful question is rarely "which brand?" It is whether aligners suit your teeth at all, who plans and supervises the treatment, and what the whole case costs. Those answers come out of one consultation, whichever system you end up in.
What the two systems have in common
- Custom clear trays. Each tray in the series moves the teeth a small step, and the next tray picks up where the last one left off.
- Removable. The trays come out to eat, brush and floss, so there are no brackets to clean around and no hardware in photographs.
- Planned digitally. The sequence of movements is mapped before the first tray is made, so the plan exists before treatment starts.
- Supervised by a dentist. At In Line, Dr. Chon plans the case, fits the trays and checks progress in person at short visits. It is not an app and not a mail-order kit.
Where the choice actually gets made
Dr. Chon recommends one system or the other based on how far your teeth need to move and how your bite behaves, not on which box the trays come in. The manufacturers publish their own product details; what In Line can speak to is the part that is the same with either system: the plan, the fitting and the in-person checkups.
Aligners handle most mild-to-moderate crowding, gaps, and teeth that have shifted after braces. More complex bite problems sometimes need a different approach. If aligners are not the right tool for a case, Dr. Chon says so at the consultation and explains what is.
Why Dr. Chon mainly uses OrthoFX
OrthoFX is the system Dr. Chon works in most often, so most aligner cases at In Line are planned in it. That is a description of how the practice works, not a ranking of the two brands. Invisalign is offered here too, and if your case is better suited to it, or you would simply rather have it, that is a conversation for the consultation.
Either way, the dentist is the same. The person who plans your case is the person you see at every check, at the practice on Golden Springs Dr in Diamond Bar.
What aligners cost
Aligner treatment varies with how far the teeth need to move, so In Line does not publish a one-size aligner price for either system. The consultation is free, and you get an itemized written price at your exam before anything starts. The number you see is the number you pay. Every fee the practice does publish is on the pricing page.
Financing is available on approved credit through CareCredit, Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay, Sunbit, LendingClub and Proceed Finance; the lender sets the terms. See how financing works, or the guide to choosing a financing partner. If you have a PPO plan, In Line is in-network with eight major PPO carriers (listed on the insurance page), and other PPO plans are welcome out-of-network: you pay the practice, In Line files your claim the same day, and your insurer reimburses you, with an estimate beforehand. The insurance page explains the steps.
How it starts
Book a free consultation. Dr. Chon looks at how your teeth need to move, tells you whether aligners fit your case, which system he recommends and why, and what the expected timeline looks like. Dr. Chon sees patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the office answers calls and books appointments Monday through Saturday.
Where teeth need covering rather than moving, porcelain veneers are the other route, and the guide to how veneer pricing works covers them. The page on Invisalign and OrthoFX in Diamond Bar has the full picture of aligner treatment at In Line.
